La France et le COVID-19

17.3.20

Bises.

Ana.

PREGNANCY | 1st, 2nd trimester and gender reveal.

28.6.19

Disneyland Paris 24 weeks pregnant.

As i'm writing this blogpost, you are probably thinking why is she's not acting anymore on her blog, we'll it's probably because since as right now i'm 28 weeks pregnant. Yes, you read it, with my fiancé we are expecting a little baby in September. I wasn't ready to talk about it before because firstly it's my  first (and only!) pregnancy and mostly because i didn't really know what to expect.

Indeed when i say it's my first pregnancy i have to correct that it's actually my first real one, as before i lived an absorption with my ex-boyfriend, i will be happy to talk about this topic if you are interested.

Today i thought it was the right time to announce you this big news, it's also the time to say that now you will have a topic dedicated to pregnancy and parenting on my blog (yes you read it correctly) as i want to share this journey with you, this topic is not about giving advice but mostly to share what we choose, what we don't want etc.. because as we know parenting and pregnancy can be totally different to others and i think it's important to share our experience with you especially if you are living a pregnancy.

You need to have a little bit of an explanation of my personal life before i will talk about my pregnancy and my first trimester. So my fiancé is already a daddy of two girls from his first marriage who are 11 and 8 when i'm writing this. So at home between the two of us i'm the one who didn't know anything about pregnancy and kids (which is quite helpful and diminue a lot of stress!), also he is a volunteer firefighter, so i'm not scared about what will happen when it will be the time of the birth as i have someone at home who knows how to handle that (it's diminues a lot of stress to be honest!) But even tho i hate hospital and i have a big phobia of any medical procedures who needs needles (even tho i have tattoos! yes! don't judge! it's a phobia i can't explain it!)

Now let's begin with the First Trimester Throwback, as i said in the beginning i'm right now 28 weeks pregnant so i'm indeed at the beginning of my third trimester. The first one was pretty hard in terms of symptoms, nothing medically important at all but the fatigue was here, during the first three months i was probably two and half months totally out of energy, nausea was a thing too, especially at the beginning just after we had done the first scan i was 5 weeks. I can say that my symptoms came just right after the dating scan as it was pretty early i got symptoms pretty early tho (i do think right now that it's totally psychologic!). Boobs had got bigger during the first trimester as for reference i am between and 32C and 32D (depending of the brand and shape of my bra) i'm now between a 34C and a 34D. Even tho now it looks like i have breast implants on my petite frame for reference i'm 5"0 and 85,98 Lbs (before pregnancy lol) my boobs were not as hurting as some women can feel, they were tight and it was a little bit sensitive around the areola for maybe three weeks. i got my first back pain during my third month as my uterus was starting to move and bet bigger more and more, it's a symptom without being one also as i do have some back issue when i was a teenager, and i live with back pain since i'm 12, i'm just use to the back pain problem. The pregnancy glow wasn't here at all during the first trimester. Also i didn't gain a lot of weight indeed almost nothing during the first trimester.

Things that you need to know? If you are living your pregnancy in France you will probably hate to have a monthly check-up with your gynaecologist and also if you are not immune to toxoplasmosis you will have a blood test every month until the end of your pregnancy. But don't be scared about not being immune to toxoplasmosis it's nothing! most of us in the world are not! you just have to make sure that your vegetables are perfectly cleaned, and you have to eat your meat kind of burned (the bacteria can live between 4 to 65°C in ingredients) so if you want to eat beef without eating it burned you can put your meat in the freezer 24hrs before to get rid of the possible bacteria. Also don't be scared about it, Toxoplasmosis is quite rare, if you get it during pregnancy it can be medically IMPORTANT for your baby but the chances that you will have the toxoplasmosis are low especially if you clean your vegetables and if you don't play with your cat litter box either as it can be in your cat poop (even tho it can happen if you have is not an indoor cat because the bacteria is in the mud). Don't be scared for your little companion, you can give him a lot of cuddle without any problem especially if it's an indoor cat like my Harvey, because the bacteria can't be in his fur, but if your cat goes outside make sure that he doesn't have mud under his paws and also that he doesn't not scratch you. Also it's not recommended to eat sushi during pregnancy because of the Listeria. i don't know a lot of thing about Listeria because i don't eat enough sushi to be scared of it. For me it's not a problem to not have sushi for 9 months.
24 weeks pregnant.
The second Trimester, well quite interesting in terms of my body frame because nobody can figure that i was pregnant, because i didn't gain lot of weight and my belly was not showing until around 24 weeks. especially when i was wearing a shirt with a jeans. As for pregnancy clothing ? nothing was needed during the second trimester, symptoms? nausea was over, fatigue also, my hair are growing faster so i need to do my hair dye more frequently i will talk about hair dye in a future blogpost. Back pain? more and more present especially during the 22-25weeks now it's getting a little bit better. We have already almost finished the nursery in terms of big stuff. During the third trimester i will share with you the nursery but also the little details that we are adding during the last three month.

also we have our stroller now which is something really big for new parents how to find the perfect stroller isn't something easy to do obviously i will share with you everything about our choices.

As for the gender of our baby, we are expecting a baby BOY! my fiancé is thrilled about this idea as he already had two daughters so it's something new for him things are a little bit different and I'm happy for him to live a different experience. for our gender reveal we choose to do something funny for the reveal to our family but not something big, so we thought that a gender reveal cake was totally enough. I  will share with you the recipe in a future blogpost.

I think I am quite done with the big life update.

see you soon.

TRAVEL | A day in Paris.

11.1.19

I will always be a parisian, so when we can take the time to have a nice day in paris, we took the chance and we jump on the train as i live at 120km of Paris. I though today as my first blogpost in the travel category it was a great idea to talk about the capital of my country. I will probably do more blogpost about Paris, it will maybe became a series on the blog, because i want to give you the possibility to discover Paris with me. As you know i love photography since i'm a young girl because of my grand-pa so when i can shoot with my camera, i jump on the occasion. Also i want this category of travelling blogpost to be historically informed, to share with you the history behind the photo and the monuments.

The Tuileries Garden, is probably my favourite touristic place in Paris, this place has a high history resonance. In 1564 Catherine de medici' created the Tuileries palace. In 1559 the King Henri II died due to an accidental death, her Son François II was already married to Mary the queen of Scots so Catherine de Medici' moved to the Louvre Palace and it's in 1564 that she decided to create the Tuileries Palace in the Tuileries Garden.

During the French Revolution, on october 6 of 1789 the french revolution began and the king louis XVI was brought against his will to the tuileries Palace (since Louis XIV the royal residency was Versailles and Louis XVI was born in Versailles Castle). in the 19th century Napoleon Bonaparte was about to became an emperor and moved into the Tuileries Palace on February 19, 1800 and making an improvement to suit an imperial residence.

In 1871 Jules Bergeret set the fire on the palace with petroleum, liquid tar and turpentine. The fire lasted 24hrs and thoroughly gutted the palace. The ruins of the Tuileries palace stood on the site for 11 years because in 1882 the French National Embassy voted the demolition of the palace. The Tuileries garden and the Louvre area resonate a lot historically. during the 19th century the garden was the place where ordinary parisians wants to relax, meet, stroll and enjoy the fresh air and the greenery.

The Louvre pyramid is a contemporary monument commissioned by the French President François Mitterand in 1984. It was design by the Chinese-American Architect I.M Pei (who is 101 years now!). The structure which was constructed entirely with glass segments and metal poles, reaches the height of 71 feet (21,6 meters).  The inverted pyramid that you can on this picture is at the Carrousel du Louvre it's a mall who refers to two places nearby. the Louvre Musuem but also the Place du Carrousel. The mall contains the beautiful inverted pyramid. this pyramid was created also by the architect I.M Pei in 1993.

View on the Eiffel Tower from the Alexander-III bridge.

Alexander-III bridge

Here is a view from the Alexander-III Bridge, this bridge connects the Champs-Elysées quarter with those of the Invalids and the Eiffel Tower. The bridge where this photo is from was built between 1895 and 1900 and it's named after the Tsar Alexander III who had concluded the French-Russian alliance in 1892.  here is one of the popular fames of the bridge.

Sacré-Coeur Basilica.

The Basilica of the sacred heart of paris commonly know as the sacré-coeur basilica is probably one of the most beautiful monument of paris. It's a Roman catholic church and minor basilica dedicated to the sacred heart of jesus. The monument is located on the famous area of the Butte de Montmartre. The view from there is probably the most magical landscape that you can capture in photo. We can't describe this view with words.

The sacré-coeur is the exact definition of a double-monument, it's political and cultural. The Basilica was designed by Paul Abadie the construction began in 1875 and was completed in 1914. The overall style of the structure shows a free interpretation of the Romano-Bysantine features and unusual architectural vocabulary at this time, which was a conscious reaction against the neo-Baroque excesses of the Garnier Palace cited in the competition. Many design elements symbolise nationalist theme.

I hope you have enjoy this blogpost and you've learned a little bit more about Paris, see you soon for a new city or for a different quarter of Paris in the A day in Paris series.

LIFE | The Living Room

9.1.19

The Living room is probably my favorite room of the house, even if we don't have finish to furnish it yet, we still need a nice dining room cabinet and also a piano, we are still trying to find our piano we are in a big discussion about it also to paint a wall and to add an bigger table. But i thought it was a great idea to share with you where we are now and i will probably do a renovation blogpost about our recent changes later.

I decided today to share with you a little bit of our first Christmas in our house and our regular decoration of all year around. Our space is quite big, we enjoy the fact that we have a lot of luminosity it's a through living room and it's really pleasing to live in. As you can see our Christmas tree was really traditional this year, as always i'm a massive of fake Christmas tree, firstly because it's more ecological but also because i don't have to use my vacuum everyday for the leaves because that can happen especially with a floor heating like ours our bob is dry (the big plant) needs a pedestal because of that. The theme was red, green and gold and also with a lot of glass ornements, i already what i want for next year christmas decorations and i'm exited to share with you at the end of this year what it will be. As a massive fan of Christmas decorations i wanted to have a train under the tree, it's something that resonated a lot in me, it's feels so warm to have those lights for a months, with this little village and train. Also i use my big golden basket as a Christmas sack for the gifts.

Ikea | Friheten convertible sofa in Bomstad black AU$ 949

The couch area is probably my favorite part of the living room, we are big ikea fan so obviously you will a lot of ikea links at the end of this blogpost, we wanted to have a big converted sofa, as we have two bedrooms in the house and one office we thought it was a great idea to add a converted sofa if we have guest who wanted to stay after a nice dinner, we are in love with black, gold and leather so we choose a black leather couch, it's confortable, we have a lot of cosy evening behind netflix in this sofa. we enjoy dark blue tones and greens, unfortunately the photo doesn't show the real colour of our plaid and pillow

Next to the right of the sofa we have a black metal side table, we use to have our small bonsaï here, but because we added a side table at the right of the sofa, we choose to have only a gold minimalist lamp. I love everything minimalistic as you can see, for the the go to decoration is all about minimalism, we also choose a warm vintage light to add a little bit more cosiness.

As almost all of our furnitures are black, i love adding gold details in terms of decorations to add warmth to the room, i will later share with you in a new blogpost what i choose to add gold but not with a girly effect.

Ikea | Vittsjö nest of table set of two in black AU$ 89

To the left of our sofa is where we choose to add this kind of architecture inspired lamp, we love this one because it fits really nice with our floor (which is not a wooden floor by the way it's just a wooden floor tile effect because of our floor heating). Our side table is actually is the second part of our coffee table, at first they were together but with the use it was not as praticle, and having a side table here it's perfect for tea or coffee. on this side tale we have our small bonsaï he's called Aniki (we gives names to our plants it, i don't know why but it's like this) because of winter he doesn't have as many leaves as during summer i'm exited to have a bigger Aniki in three moths.

On the side table i also put my favorite magazine, it's the Frech magazine IDEAT contemporary life, it's a beautiful magazine full of interior design and lifestyle content.

This is our roof lamp on the sofa area, as you can see those too lamp are geometric style, i choose them for my old apartment before we moved together my fiancé and i, in this beautiful house, i really like the fact that those too ceiling lamps works with our interior design style

As for the dining area, the ceiling like is with a diamond shape, This one is in my opinion a little bit more younger looking but, i still really like this one, i like the fact that those ceiling are not the same

What i like the most about those ceiling lamps it's the effect when the light are on, the light effect on the ceiling adds a magical effect to the living room

Ikea | Chrysalidocarpus Lustescens plant AU$ 34,95

Our plant still needs a pedestal but it will come in not a long time, i still need to find the perfect one, so our plant is a little bit dry because of the floor heating as i say before, but i like this green corner with the golden basket, we like to use it to store our sofa cushions and plaids when we want a little bit more space or when friends are staying at home and needs the converted sofa. This Basket is just at the left of our architecture inspired lamp, and i'm exited to add a piano to this blank space here. we are thinking of a Yamaha Clavinova 625 with the glossy black finish.  To the other part of the room we still need to paint the wall the TV stand and the guitars are placed and we will add a nice dining cabinet to store our occasional dishes and books.

Ikea | Merete curtain set of 2 in blue AU$ 39,99

Our curtains are dark blue, almost a night blue color which is in my opinion an amazing color for a living room. As everything is really modern in our living i now want to give a more rustique ancient look  with some details i'm thinking of my future dining room cabinet, i will share with you about this later. So i choose cream curtain loops who are italien renaissance style, this style was introduce during this era in Toscane. I really like the big pompom because their are heavy and works nicely with the fabric of our black curtains.

I hope you have enjoy the first part of my interior category and i hope you liked the small tour of my living room i'm exited to share more details about our home in the next blogpost.

Less is more for your face.

6.4.18

For today's beauty blogpost, i choose to talk about the foundations that i've  been loving since years. As you already know if you follow me since 6 years, you already know that i'm not a big fan of full coverage foundations for an everyday makeup. I found them not really wearable outside of a photoshoot or a night out , and as the quotes said, less is more. Especially when it's all about face makeup. I do try a lot of foundations,  but every time i go  back to my old favorites it's because i don't find it natural to cover everything on my skin, cover this blemish that makes me roll your eyes when i look in the mirror, or cover those freckles that i used to can not handle. The makeup we wear daily defines us as a person in our society (i know it's sad but we created this world we can't complain about it tho) , and I would never really feel myself with makeup that is not who I am inside.

Nars Sheer Glow (Gobi) according to François Nars, it's a sheer foundation with a buildable coverage, well for me in my case it's more a light-medium coverage foundation. This foundation has a natural and a glowy finish. It leaves the skin hydrated and more luminous with a softer and smoother finish. I do already had finish two bottles of this foundation, we can say that it's probably one of my most used and favorites foundations.

The Make-Up Forever Waterblend (Y215), is my last summer favorite foundation, for me it's more a skin tint than a real foundation, quite similar to the Face and Body from mac, but with a wider shade range, which for me is a big pro because of my really fair skin, i do have to say that i used to be a massive fan of the older version of this foundation which was also named face and body so i wasn't surprised with this one. The finish is quite dewy, if you have an combination to oily skin i will suggest to set this foundation with a nice mattifying powder and to apply a mattifying primer (my favorite? the makeup forever mattifying primer is the best in my opinion)

The Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint (light and medium), is probably my most sheerest product into my entire collection. The brand, created by Emily Weiss is a brand who democratise beauty, the brand put the skin health before the makeup that's the philosphy because the beauty world has historically been an industry based on experts telling you, the customer, what you should or shouldn’t be using on your face. The Perfecting Skin Tint even out the discolouration and leaves the skin smooth and dewy, I use this product when i want something but also nothing on my face (yes it's a paradox, but i'm a women).

The Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum (51 Light Vanilla), was the first enough light foundation that i could find at the drugstore and that was almost ten years ago. Since the packaging as changed a bit, but it's still as good as he used to be back in a day(and still with the fruity scent). It's a mixture between a liquid foundation and a cream foundation. It's an HYBRID. It gives me coverage without hiding my freckles, if you have a normal to dry skin i will highly recommend to check this one out, It contains vitamin C, E, and B5 that helps the skin to look fresh and radiant.

The It Cosmetics CC Cream (Fair), do we have to talk about the packaging of mine? totally rubbed of, almost done, that's for sure how much i love this CC Cream. I don't know if i can say that this CC cream has a light coverage, because for a CC cream it's full coverage base in my opinion, if i have to re-categorize this product as a foundation i would say it's a light-buildable medium coverage. As you know, BB and CC cream are normally in the sheerer side (like the Laura Mercier Tinted moisturizer) but this one, (oh dude!)  is a perfection in a tube (and yes with a pump!) what i like about this product is the SPF 50+ but specially the Chemical Filtre Free SPF, i don't have a sensitive skin but i hate when a foundation or a BB/CC cream has a chemical SPF. this product is moisturising, and it protects your skin from sun damage and especially from the UVA.

Since I discovered all these products, I admit in all honesty not to use the rest of my collection and thus i have begin to get rid little by little of the products I don't really need. I try to restrict all this to have a more minimalist collection which corresponds to my needs but also to what I really like to use. I'm thinking of writing you a blogpost very soon on this radical change.

Love.
A.
